    Short Biography

I have a scientific background in stem/cancer stem cell biology and immunology with training in molecular biology and received my Masters and Ph.D. in biology in the Oncology department at Universita’ Politecnica delle Marche, in Ancona, Italy.

In 2015, I joined NYU Langone Medical Center, studying osteosarcoma using the CRISPR/Cas9 technology. In 2018, I joined Buettner’s lab as a senior researcher investigating the role of metabolic determinants of neuroinflammation. In particular, I have been interested in understanding the role of physiological inflammation in the hypothalamus during fasting/starvation, cold exposure, and stress as well as pathological inflammation in obesity and diabetes.
